First of all congratulations, it's never easy to exercise even some introspection, especially on such sensitive issues as this one. Second, you shouldn't worry so much about not knowing a name; I beat myself up everyday because i have tens of colleagues whose names i was never inquisitive enough to learn. And race obviously has nothing to do with this! Her voice is so loud and she likes to boss everyone around in Indian. She and mom have developped their own sign language. One time i was home alone with her and the phone rang, she felt so protective that she had to ask me who it was.
